Medication Waste
Every year, unused prescription medication costs the NHS around £300 million. This is an astonishing amount of money that could be used to improve services for patients.
We at Dovercourt and Manor Top Practices are committed to do our bit to reduce this waste and ask you, our patients, to join us in this.
· When you have a medication review, please tell us if you are not needing a medication so it can be removed from your list.
· Please do not order ALL your medication if you only need certain items-tell us only what you need.
· Please inform us if a medication you have been prescribed does not suit you so that we can look for an alternative if needed- do not order an item if you know you will not be taking it.
· If you have unused medication at home, please pass it back to your Pharmacy.
If you have any problems with medication, please discuss these with your Pharmacist or contact the Practice as we really want you to be happy with what we are prescribing and we value your honesty.
Thanks for working with us to reduce waste in the NHS.
